The fantastic author of Half a Yellow Sun, Chimamanda Adichie gives a TED talk on the dangers of only hearing one story and building cultural stereotypes from it.
How we as individuals and societies build stereotypes on single stories is something that continues to amuse and frustrate me and as Adichie so eloquently puts, only hearing one story is also more deeply routed in history & power balances with wider consequences. This to me is what Agora is about, sharing perspectives and shared learning which builds a stronger and more equitable foundation for policy development.
