Dr Brademas is the Foundation President
of the King Juan Carlos I Center at NYU and President Emeritus of NYU.
Dr Brademas served as President of NYU from 1981 to 1992 and prior to
this served for 22 years in the United States Congress.
Prof Heywood is Dean of the Graduate School at the
University of Nottingham and holds the Chair for Sir Francis Hill Professor of European Politics.
Prof Heywood's research focuses on three broad issues: processes of democratisation and political
change in Europe; institutional design, state capacity and the policy process; and political corruption.

para las Relaciones Internacionales y el Diálogo Exterior).
Diego Hidalgo worked for the World Bank between 1968 and 1977 and was the
co-founder and member of the board of directors of the PRISA - El País
publishing group since 1980.
Dr Marquette is a lecturer in the International Development Department
of The University of Birmingham. Dr Marquette's research interests include
anti-corruption reforms and strategies, good governance, the transition
to democracy and civic education. Dr Marquette has 6 years international
experience in consultancy work acts as an adviser on political systems and
governance for the UK Department for International Development.
Antonio de Oyarzábal is the Vice-chairman of the Real Instituto Elcano.
He joined the Spanish Diplomatic Corps in 1961 and represented Spain as Ambassador in Quito (1981-1983);
Tokyo (1990-1994); Copenhagen (1994-1996) and Washington (1996-2000). At present he is the Chairman of
Santa Bárbara Sistemas.
